cabbage leaf kids has been my dream for many years. I love kids! As a mother of five children and grandmother of two (this is my granddaughter, Adria, who is 5 1/2!), I have always wanted to have a store specializing in all things fun for kids. When my children were young (my oldest is now 26!) I loved shopping for baby and children's products that had something extra - originality, uniqueness, flair and style. And that is what cabbage leaf kids is all about.

My mission is to provide my customers products that blend essential needs and desires: functionality, comfort, value, durability, a sense of style and most of all, fun! cabbage leaf kids wants to enhance the special years of being a parent and being a child.

Many people have asked me where the name cabbage leaf kids came from. Of course, I always have to explain it has nothing to do with Cabbage Patch dolls! I was born the middle child of five to my parents, George and Elizabeth Joseph. My father and all four of my siblings had blue eyes. My mother and I were the only brown-eyed ones in the bunch! My father used to tell me a story of how he went out one day and found a brown-eyed catepiggle (his word) under a cabbage leaf and brought the catepiggle (me) home. When I was very little, this story would make me cry but by the time I was 6 or 7, I realized this was my father's way of letting me know I was a one-of-a-kind kid!

My father is no longer with us but I treasure being his brown-eyed catepiggle from under that cabbage leaf. I want all children to know and understand that each of them is special. The world is a better and richer place for the uniqueness of each of us! We are all cabbage leaf kids!
